An Ode to Summer

It has taken me longer to find a subject for my second blog post than I would like to admit. I will definitely do a round-up of our most recent Disney trip, but that didn’t seem to fit the nostalgia and magic of the season. I love planning trips and experiencing them with the people that mean the most. Disney brings the magic and Universal brings the thrills, but there is something about that special summer vacation your family took when you were young that will stay with you forever. That magical summer where anything was possible. No worries, no stress, just living in the moment.

This is something I think we all as adults now long for. The escape from our duties and responsibilities. We want our kids to experience a new place where the wonders are endless. That could be a beach, the lake, the mountains, or discovering new cities. The possibilities of summer vacations are limitless, and everyone’s idea of what that looks like is different. If we could only bottle up those feelings and keep them forever, how magnificent would that be? The thing is, it may not be the exact same memories or the same locations we had in our childhood and thats okay. But the freedom and excitement to be in a special place with the people we love, is the ultimate road to a summer our kids will never forget. As a mom of three, I don’t want my kids to grow up any faster than they already are. We all know they will, right? So let it be in the company of family, friends, and memories that will last a lifetime. There’s something magical about those sweet summer moments. A simple beach vacation can leave a lasting imprint, shaping the kind of life we dream of as adults. If our children grow up believing that time spent with family on vacation is just how life is meant to be, maybe they’ll carry that tradition into the next generation. And if they do, then I think we’ve done something right as parents.

So here is to the next vacation, big or small. Let it hold a place in our hearts and minds forever. May those memories fill us with love, happiness, and the feeling of possibility for the future to come.
